About this Project

This project was completed at the University of Michigan College of Engineering during the F15 semester for EECS 351: Digital Signal Processing with Prof. Laura Balzano.

The goal of the project is to apply DSP tools and knowledge gained in class to a field of our choosing.  We choose to apply DSP to audio processing, specifically to developing several implementations of dynamic range compressors.

This project site has the additional goal of being educational for beginning audio enthusiats who are learning about compression for the first time as well as for experience audio engineers hoping to understand the technical background behind digital audio compression.
